Trichosanthes Peel

Trichosanthes Peel has an orange-red or orange-yellow outer surface and yellowish-white inner surface. It is brittle in texture, with a caramel-like odor and a bland, slightly sour taste. It is sweet and cold in nature, acting on the Lung and Stomach Meridians. It functions to clear heat and resolve phlegm, promote qi movement and relieve chest stuffiness, and is mainly indicated for phlegm-heat cough as well as chest and hypochondriac pain.
