Animal and Plant Quarantine Department and Hefei Customs Undertake Research in Chinese Herbal Medicine Distribution Centers in January 2024, Optimizing Access Procedures and Boosting Import Growth

In January 2024, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Department and Hefei Customs went to Bozhou, Yulin and other Chinese herbal medicine distribution centers to conduct research, collected 9 opinions and suggestions, established a ledger, and kept a close eye on the processing time. The response rate and satisfaction rate reached 100%; explored and optimized the access assessment procedures, completed the assessment of more than 60 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines in urgent need of access in Russia, Laos and other countries, and helped 35 kinds of Chinese herbal medicines in four countries including Indonesia to obtain quarantine access in my country; Hefei and Qingdao Customs took the lead in sorting out the product codes of Chinese herbal medicines, formulated 110 supervision and sampling projects, and focused on strengthening the detection of pesticides and other projects to ensure the quality and safety of imported products. In 2023, the value of imported Chinese herbal medicines nationwide was 2.896 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.44%.
