Cuttlefish Bone / Haipiaoxiao

Cuttlebone belongs to the medicines that consolidate essence, arrest leukorrhea and reduce urination. It can astringe to stop bleeding, constrain essence and leukorrhea, relieve gastric hyperacidity and pain, as well as dry dampness and promote sore healing.
Orally, it is used for hematemesis, epistaxis, metrorrhagia, hematochezia, spermatorrhea, spontaneous seminal emission, reddish and leukorrheal discharge, stomachache with acid regurgitation. For external application, it treats traumatic bleeding, eczema, damp sores and unhealed ulcers.
